Ionic liquids (ILs) with significant dipole moments exhibit massive electric polarization (P) under an applied AC electric field (E) at room temperature. This unique phenomenon is ascribed to the long-range ordering of molecular dipole moments of ILs over a distance of more than 1 μm from the electrodes. This work is the result of years of collaborative research with Prof.Tejwant Singh (Guru Nanak Dev Univ).
Our paper on electric-field-induced long-range orientation and polarization switching of ionic liquids with large dipole moments has been published online in J.Am.Chem.Soc. (28th February 2025)
