While taking the spread of "cutting-edge science and technology for molecular systems" to target regions in Asia as the outcome, this is also a mixed-type program expecting the acquisition of high-quality human resources, which means the ripple effect to our country. This department has been actively cooperating in establishing Asian Chemical Network and Kyushu University Research Institute for East Asia Environments and developing the contribution to create competitive bases. And organizations in the conclusion of agreement for the International Academic Cooperation and Student Exchange Programs between universities and departments related to this department are up to 6 institutions from 4 countries.

Our target field is chemistry in a broad sense. We don’t stick to the special field of target student very much, but our target should be the students who have basic chemical knowledge and fully understand it, and take actions with intentions for research and development. There is no specific limitation for target countries and regions, but graduate students, researchers from national institutes, and technical personnel from private corporates mainly from Asia (China, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.) are the target groups.

In chemical industries, materials with sophisticated functions, such as nano material with hyperfine structure not available in the past are needed. Furthermore, the technology of controlling the tissues and biological functions at molecular level becomes more and more important in the field of life science. And the foundation for all the demands above is the "science for molecular systems" studied through this program.
